Dear Editor,
The article “Essex County observes Domestic Violence Awareness Month” was very interesting to read. I was glad to see that Essex County has been trying to help victims of Domestic Violence. It almost seemed like no one in the City or anyone around me really cared that much about Domestic Violence or just never thought of it as a big deal.
I feel as though more people should be aware of Domestic Violence. If everyone knew about it and tried to help out, then maybe it wouldn’t be as bad.
-“Domestic Violence is a serious crime and should and unfortunately, it can be found in every community. Although significant strides have been made over the last several decades, the public must be vigilant and proactive so domestic violence cases are addressed and victims are treated safely with dignity and respect,” DiVincenzo said.
Maybe instead of looking at basics Domestic Violence we should all try to help out the victims and prevent others from becoming a victim. But on the other hand it is important that you understand what it is and who is affected most. This is a big problem because it happens often. More people should take action.
